Nokia N93 mobile phone

Nokia N93 mobile phone
If you're in the majority of the population that wants all the bells and whistles on a mobile telephone, this yet-to-be-released device may have been custom made for you.

The Nokia N93 is packed full of features, more than most of us really need but would love to have just the same. In addition to being a plain ol’ telephone, it boasts a 3.2 megapixel camera, Carl Zeiss optics and 3x optical zoom. But what’s the point of taking all those pictures if you have no one to share them with? Not a problem. With the new partnership with Flickr , you can upload, share and comment straight from your phone.

It also offers MPEG4 video capture at 30fps. Afterwards you can view it on its 2.4” screen, or hook it up to a standard television by using TV-out option or wireless LAN and UPnP technology. As it comes bundled with Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0, you can cut, merge and edit to make home movies in a snap.

And there's even more. This 3G phone has Bluetooth, Wifi, music player, regular cam, video cam, internet access to check emails, watch TV, play games, or even watch a movie. But if you got bored with all this savvy techie stuff, and just want to be “old skool,” you can just sit back and listen to the radio by using its stereo FM transmitter. Oh, and guess what! You can still use it as a phone and reach out and call someone!........

For Privacy Seekers
If you are one of those females, who die to get privacy while talking on their mobile phones will love the Life Dress designed by Ann de Gersem.

The basic aim of the dress is to give its wearer the possibility to instantly create a personal space, in which she/he can seclude her/himself from the chaotic surroundings.

The moment you feel you want to create a periphery around yourself, all you need to do is pull up the zipper of your skirt. With this an air cartridge inflates the skirt and a balloon like structures forms around you to give you a private room of your own, inside which you can chat on your phone precisely anywhere and anytime without anyone getting even the slightest hint.........

Yet Another Stylish Skype Headset

Yet Another Stylish Skype Headset
Seems every day of late another "stylish" Skype headset hits the market. The one today is the Elecom MS-PH99UBK and as the manufacturers says it is "difficult to become tired even in conversation of long haul being lightweight". Granted that's translated form Japanese but I still found it humorous.

The handset itself has a stand to help keep it in place and features USB connectivity. A four way control pad allows you to scroll through your Skype contact list as well as a mute button. You can also make the phone show a flashing LED when a call arrives rather than ringing. Dimensions are 47 x 19 x 131.4mm and approximately 85g with a 1.5 meter cable length.........

Mask Noisy Phone Calls at the Office

Mask Noisy Phone Calls at the Office
Most of us cubicle-confined employees have realized by now that there's no such thing as privacy. Often, we're forced to speak in soft tones, and the person on the other end wonders why we're whispering. Then there's those who speak at a ridiculously high level, and every day you get a glimpse into the person next to you's dramatic life: changing diapers, fighting with the wifey, the in-laws are coming for a visit, the basement is flooded, or what to make for dinner.

There's really no way to silence your cubicle companions (unless, of course, you mischieviously move things from their desk, making them so irritated that they wind up moving). For now, the only option is to mask those sounds, by giving them Babble: a device that provides voice privacy without the need for walls.

Developed by Sonare Technologies, Babble is a desktop device that "connects to the telephone and sends the user's voice out in multiplied and 'babbled' form through proprietary speakers arranged in the work area. It achieves confidentiality without distracting the user of the device, and those in the user's immediate area hear what sounds like an indiscernible, low-volume group conversation".

The system comes with 2 speakers, and each can provide up to 180 degrees of coverage. All you do is plug the device into your phone, press the button, and you're on your way to private calls.........

Phones Have Changed, But Teenaged Girls Have Not

Phones Have Changed, But Teenaged Girls Have Not
Cellphones come in many shapes, colors and sizes now, but the teenaged girls who use them may not be very different than the young women who were learning how to use telephones more than 40 years ago.

A University of Alberta study published in the recent issue of Journal of Youth Studies revealed that a group of teen girls aged 14 to 17, while attracted to the cool and hip images of cellular phone advertisements, expressed that a series of advertisements they were shown published in issues of Seventeen magazine from 1960 most reflected their experiences as users. These ads for Bell telephones showed young ladies the uses of a telephone, including helping friends with homework and talking about boys. Many of the teens interviewed identified with these ads and the importance of friendship and responsibility that they showed, said researcher Rachel Campbell, author of the study and a PhD student in sociology at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.

In contrast, the freedom-filled world presented in many of today's cellular phone advertisements was not a reality in the eyes of these young women. They viewed their opportunities to 'go out' as limited, particularly when compared to their male friends.

Campbell's study also found that most of the girls she talked with were given cellphones by their parents to keep them safe - a safety that the girls believed was a real concern. The young women recognized their parents' worry and emphasized wanting to be good, responsible daughters. Despite this, some of the girls admitted to occasionally wasting their parents' minutes, "fibbing" about where they were, or refusing to answer the cellphone's ring. Yet, Campbell said, "these actions never deviated far from what was expected by their parents. They still carried the cellphone and called home. They just wanted to create a space for themselves. With the cellphone many even said they 'felt safer'".........
