Sony Z710 Cell Phone
Say hello to the brand new Sony Z710 cell phone, a clamshell with an attitude. Aimed at business users, the Z710 is compatible with EDGE networks across the world and also includes a 2.0 megapixel camera.
Productivity is the keyword, with support for a full HTML browser (Access NetFront - my favorite, incidentally), e-mail clients and an RSS reader so you can keep track of The Whack and other news/traffic reports while on the move. The phone is bundled with a 64MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) - I guess Sony will never grow tired of them anytime soon. It is, of course, expandable up to 1GB and that's a good sign.
The Sony Z710 includes an integrated digital music player, but the cooler part is that Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP (audio distribution profile - with stereo!) is available. Bring on your Bluetooth stereo headsets and enjoy freedom from wires. The USB interface to the phone is handy to transfer images or other multimedia from the phone to the PC and back.
Supported audio formats include MP3, AAC and the newer e-AAC+. Being a clamshell, it sports dual displays. The external one is rather large at 1.5" offering a 128x128 pixel resolution white-on-blue LCD. As is the norm with Sony Ericsson, the Sony Z710 will be available in two versions:........

Sony W710 cell phone
Sony wants you to put aside your iPod and pick up the new Sony W710 Walkman phone when going to the gym. Designed for those with a sporty lifestyle, the W710 comes with a motion sensor, and a new set of fitness-related phone applications - right from measuring your running speed, distance and time to counting how a number of steps you've walked.
Like the other newly announced phone, the Z710, the Sony W710 takes in Memory Stick Micro (M2), a default 512MB provided with the phone and a maximum of 1GB. Seems little for a Walkman phone, though. The phone has been re-designed with a sporty look, and is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera as well.
When you are on your daily run, simply access the jogging application (accessible both from the sub-display and the main display) to measure speed and distance covered. A daily step counter remembers your progress, displaying it even during phone standby (of course, the counter gets reset at midnight).
With a phone like this, you must be wondering how uncool it would be to stand in the middle of the road and fiddle around with the phone to start an application or jump to the next track. Fear not, Sony Ericsson has put in quick access keys so you won't have to do that. The fitness app, Walkman player and FM radio can be controlled using the external display and keys provided by its side - without having to open the phone.........

Sony Ericsson P990i
Recently the P Series from Sony got a gadget makeover. With upgrades that would make any cellphone user jealous, the tri-band phone uses GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900.
Running on Symbian 9.1 OS and UIQ 3 platform only makes this phone more desireable. It's Wi-Fi capable (802.11b plus flight mode) and includes push email for Blackberry, infrared, 3G, USB, remote sync via SyncML, Opera 8 web browser, a VPN client, VRML, Java and Bluetooth.
Included with all the goodies already mentioned, are a Word and Excel editor, Powerpoint viewer, PDF viewer and pretty much all you need to operate an office away from your office. Heck, you might as well go all mobile with this setup!
Boasting 80MB internal memory and a slot for memory stick duo - 64MB comes with it as well. But, that's not all! An FM radio with RDS and a 2-megapixel camera that uses autofocus and a special photolight, too.
With three hours of 3G talk time and nine hours of normal talk time you will stay busier than you ever have. Standby is supposed to be twelve days for 3G and sixteen days for GSM. An amazing production from Sony. Visit their site and check this model out.........

Love Cellular Style
This is perhaps the second most ridiculous gadget next to the Handheld Lie Detector I have seen in a long time. The Love Detector is a cellular voice analyzer that helps truly desperate geeks try to find love. To use the service you dial the services number and then you call the person you hope to love or have love you.
Love detector's servers measure the supposed excitement and other parameters to determine if there is any love in the air, quite literally in this case. Let me just say this, if you need a cell phone to tell you if you have a chance with the person on the other end of your cellular conversation, you are doomed.........

LG just unveiled the next generation of its popular "Chocolate" phone at the recent Expo Comm Wireless Korea 2006, and it seems to maintain the same features and minimalist elegance as its predecessor in a slightly thicker package (16.5-millimeters versus the original's 15.3). FTC To Stop Telemarketer Using Phony Caller ID
A nationwide telemarketer of mortgage loans has been calling people whose numbers are listed on the National Do Not Call Registry, and doing so without identifying itself, according to the Federal Trade Commission, which is seeking civil penalties and an injunction against the telemarketer for violations of the FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule. This is the Commission's first case alleging transmission of false caller ID information.
According to an FTC complaint, Srikanth Venkataraman, formerly of New Jersey, has been doing business as Scorpio Systems, Ltd., selling mortgage loans, refinancing, and other products and services. Scorpio allegedly called numbers on the Do Not Call Registry, failed to transmit its telephone number and name to consumers' caller identification service, and failed to pay the fee required to access the Registry. The telemarketer transmitted either no caller ID or a phony caller ID - 234-567-8923 - and, as a result, consumers were unable to contact the telemarketer to stop unwanted telemarketing calls.
The Commission vote to authorize staff to file the complaint against Scorpio Systems, Ltd. was 5-0. The complaint was filed at the FTC's request by the U. S. Department of Justice in U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on April 26, 2006. Assistance in this matter was provided by the FTC's Southwestern Regional Office.........
