Full-screen Video IPod Coronation in 2007?
Bad news for all devoted iPod geeks, who are desperately waiting to crown the new king of the 'gadget industry', the latest widescreen iPod would now be released next year. As per International Business Time, you will have to wait for another six months or so to bite the fresh apple.
As per Shaw Wu of American Technology Research:
Apple is aiming to increase both the screen size and improve the battery life - two conflicting attributes that are difficult to improve simultaneously and require significant engineering.
Certainly, we are fed up with the teasing mock-ups and need to see the beast now without fault, however, we are helpless and would have to wait and see what's Apple has to offer to melt down the much-hyped Zune. Apparently, Apple is feeling the pressure and wants to overcome technical hurdles before actually introducing the new iPod and that make sense too.........

S-VIEW SV510 portable video key
Piracy is rampant in the software and entertainment industries, and you can sometime find bootleg versions of the latest movies and games before they are even officially released. Cinea has introduced a new solution to this age-old problem with the S-VIEW SV510, a USB key that enables the playback of protected digital content.
Should the USB key be lost or stolen, this device can be disconnected remotely. Movie studios should look into this offering from Cinea in order to reduce the risk of piracy. The S-VIEW SV510 comes with a six to twelve digit access code for security purposes and can be deregistered should the situation call for it.........

Wireless Mighty Mouse
With its secure, reliable Bluetooth technology, the wireless Mighty Mouse goes wherever you do. Pair it with any Bluetooth-enabled Mac and wireless keyboard to work untethered and uncluttered at your desk, or take your show on the road. Mighty Mouse lightens your load on the go by operating with either one or two AA batteries. That'll save you lugging a bulky dock around.
Laser-guided PrecisionThe wireless Mighty Mouse's tracking engine is based on powerful laser technology that delivers 20 times the performance of standard optical tracking, giving you more accuracy and responsiveness on more surfaces. It works just as well on your office desk as it does on a table at your favorite coffee spot. So leave the mouse pad at home. Mighty Mouse is one smooth operator.
Spry and MightyIn the beginning, there was one button. Then there were two. Then there were clickable scroll wheels and programmable toggles and solid-state slides. But nobody made a mouse as easy to use as your Mac. Until now. Mighty Mouse combines the capability of a multibutton mouse with Apple's signature top-shell design for the best of both form and function. Use it any way you work: Stick with single-button simplicity or click with multibutton efficiency.

iOPS BlueQ Digital Audio Player
Last time we saw this thing was at the CeBIT, but it appears that iOPS actually inserted some guts into the formerly-empty hull. The specs should match up to our scoopage post just fine, then.
So here we have the iOPs BlueQ, the DAP formerly known as Q18. Obviously equipped with a color screen (1.8-inch, 262k colors) and (supposedly so) runs for about 30 hours when playing audio (MP3/WMA). Most "unique" feature would have to be the bluetooth support, enabling us all to jam through our 70s'esque living rooms, kicking furniture through the plastic ceiling and all that - without being bothered by those nasty headphone wires.
It remains to be seen if iOPS can actually crank up the capacity volume to the respectable 4GB level (as promised before) - but all in all, the BlueQ doesn't look half bad. Some will call it a toy, others are likely to nickname it "fatty". that's the way life is, even for DAPs. At least it's smaller than a coffee mug.........

Fuel cells, a clean source of energy
"Fuel cells are a genuine 'clean' technology," says one of the study's investigators, Professor Chris Hendry of the Cass Business School, London. "But re-investment in nuclear technology is likely to squeeze out the investment necessary to make fuel cells competitive with existing energy sources and with other non-nuclear alternative energy options".
The study, co-written by Prof. Hendry, Dr. Paul Harborne, James Brown and Prof. Dinos Arcoumanis, gives a strong clue to one of the major obstacles to development by referring to fuel cell technology as a disruptive innovation. A disruptive innovation, if successful, eventually overturns the existing product on the market. Recent examples include the digital camera and the compact disc. Disruptive innovations are radically different from the existing dominant technology and to begin with they are often not as good. The result is two-fold. First the proponents of existing technology are likely to fear and so resist the new development. Second, because profits are unlikely to be immediate, funding can be problematic.
The automotive industry and stationary power provide examples of fuel cells as a disruptive innovation. However, while their potential is being pursued in the UK, Germany, North America and Japan, interviews with seventy companies in these countries show the UK fuel cell industry is lagging behind.........
