Sony is aiming to launch PlayStation 3 (PS3) in September 2006 according to an article reported in the Next Generation. The article suggests that both U.S. and Japanese markets will see the launching of PS3 in September.

PS3 is expected to have an online service to rival Xbox Live, work as a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to record television broadcasts, and will also act as a Location Free player for the PSP.
